Official Contest Rules
• There is NO registration fee. Just show up on May 5, 2007 during the set-up hours with your terrarium. An IAD staff member will direct you to the set-up area.
• There will be no imposed terrarium size restriction.
• Lighting for the terrarium must be provided by the contestant.
• Materials to construct the actual terrarium will not be provided. IAD will only provide the table and electrical outlets to display the tank.
• 120 volt AC power outlet will be available, but each entry is limited to using 2 receptacles.
• The terrariums will be displayed on tables provided by IAD.
• Set-up for the contest will be between the hours of 8:30 and 10:00 AM May 5, 2007. Only contestants will be allowed into the contest area during the set-up period.
• Terrariums may not be removed from the the contest area until after 1:00 PM on May 6, 2007 unless prior approval has been given by IAD staff.
• If desired, amphibians may be displayed in the terrariums by the contestants, however, these animals must be captive bred only. No wild caught animals are allowed in the show.
• No information that identifies the contestant may be displayed or communicated by any means until after the results of the contest have been posted.
• Terrariums in the contest will be identified and voted on by a number assigned by IAD to keep the contestants anonymous.
• The contest will be judged by the public. Each attendee will receive a ballot when entering the show.
• Contest begins at 10:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2007.
• Votes will be tallied after the contest, and the results will be posted and prizes awarded on Sunday morning, May 6, 2007. Following the posting of the results, the identities of the contestants will be posted with their entries.
• The terrarium receiving the most votes wins 1st Place, second highest number of votes wins 2nd place, and third highest number of votes wins 3rd place. The terrariums receiving the 4th through 6th highest number of votes will be awarded "Honorable Mention".
• In the event of a tie, the first 3 attendees to enter the show on Sunday May 6, 2007 will be given ballots to decide the winner.
• The prizes awarded will be: a ribbon, certificate and an IAD souvenir.
• Security will be provided for the terrariums, but all entries are at the risk of the contestant. IAD assumes no liability for any damages or loss that may occur as a result of this contest.
